Family Visits and Life on Pause

We got back home last night from a weekend visit at my sister's house.  A few posts ago I mentioned that she moved to Kentucky after her husband was offered a job there.  This was my first visit to her new home, town, and church.  It was a wonderful visit but way too short!  It still kind of blows my mind a little that we live so far apart now.  I wonder when I'll get used to that.  The distance and spread apart visits makes me appreciate the times we do get to see each other and the phone conversations so much more!

On another note, we have been looking at houses to possibly buy.  We are renting right now and the house and land is wonderful but I would rather have a place that I can do whatever I want with and not have to ask permission first.  However, since we might not stay here too much longer I don't want to paint any more or do any more decorating.  I don't want to waste time or money if I don't have to.  We are keeping our fingers crossed for the right house!  In the meantime, decorating life will be paused!

My mom and dad will be coming to visit tomorrow night!  *Big Huge Smile*  They went to Starr's house (Starr is my sister) a few days before we got there and stayed a few extra days after we left.  I'm excited to have more family time and make more memories.  I can't wait until Starr and her family get to come here and see where I live!  More wonderful things to look forward to :)

Well, time to go and catch up on my dvr while folding more laundry!  What an exciting life I live!

Hello, My Name is Carrie and I am an addict...

I admit it! I am addicted to blogs!  I love reading other people's blogs and get so excited when I find someone that posts every day!  If I come across a new blog I will spend every spare minute that I have to start from the beginning and catch up on the entire blog.  I just found a new blog to "stalk" a few days ago.  The person started it over a year ago and writes in it faithfully so it is taking a little while for me to catch up.  I have made it to July of this year so I'm getting pretty close to catching up!  It's a good thing she posts pretty much every day!

I also love blogs that show craft or "re-purposing" furniture ideas.  Before and after pictures make me a happy girl!  Things like that inspire me to get crafty and start doing fun things like that.  I'm still learning the blogging basics so I haven't been brave enough to post my crafts yet but maybe I will someday.  I figure I should get a little more used to writing my blog before I try to add little special things :)

I am definitely open to finding more blogs to follow so if anyone would like to suggest any, feel free!  I love and look forward to turning my computer on in the morning and catching up on other people's lives!

A New Leaf

I have a huge problem...I am FAT!  Since moving to Alabama in July I have gained at least 10 lbs!  And let me just say that I wasn't exactly thin before adding those new pounds.  I am tired of being uncomfortable in my clothes and having to try on a tons of outfits before finding anything that I can it well enough to go out in public in!  I woke up this morning and decided that it is time to turn over a new leaf in my life.  It is time to get in shape and start feeling better about myself.  So, right after the kids left for school I walked a little over two miles.  To be completely honest, it wore me out!  More proof that I am way out of shape!  Hopefully I will stay strong and motivated and not give up like I have done too many times before.  Anyone have any tips or maybe some motivational strategies?  Anything that can help me would be greatly appreciated!

It's been forever!

Well, it has been forever since I have written so I'll try to sum up what has happened lately.  First of all I now live in Alabama.  We moved here two weeks ago today.  Mark's company transferred him here so we packed up our lives and moved.  I'll admit it...I'm super scared and lonely right now.  I miss my family and friends extremely bad :(  We have met some very nice people and the church that we are attending is wonderful but I still really miss my church, friends, and especially my family!  I know that it will get better and Alabama will start to feel more and more like home but right now I am a bit homesick.  I miss being able to call my mom, dad, and sister to see if they want to go to lunch.  Living 10+ hours away stinks!

Starr and Allen (my sister and brother-in-law) are actually getting ready to move to Kentucky in about three weeks too!  Allen got a new job there so that's where they are going.  So, instead of being 10+ hours away from me, they will only be about 5 hours away.  I never thought my family would be spread out from each other but here we are!  I'm not sure how Christmas is going to work out but I guess pretty much everything in our lives is going to be different from now on.

I do like my house so far.  It is bigger than the house I had in Ohio and there is a lot more land.  We just put the pool up Saturday and the kids were able to swim in it yesterday (Sunday) so they were pretty happy about that.  Here's a pic of the new house...

Living here is definitely going to take some getting used to but I know I will eventually.  I am still unpacking boxes and I can't wait to finally be done with that!  It seems never ending!  Most of everything is done, or almost done, except for hanging pictures.  I am kind of waiting until my mom can come visit because she is much better at decorating than I am! Lol!

Well, I guess that's enough updating for now.  I will try to be more faithful to writing in this blog from now on :)

The Power Of Friends

Isn't it just amazing how a night out with friends can make you feel so much better?  A few nights ago I was having a really bad day/night and it wasn't looking like it was going to get any better.  All I wanted to do was crawl into bed and stay there.  I then got a text from a friend, who is also going through a lot right now, asking if I would be interested in going to dinner with a few girls and then just hang out afterwards.  I went, of course!  Just being with my friends for a few hours made me forget my problems for a while and just laugh and laugh!  I love being around people that make me laugh!  It was definitely needed!  I am already ready for another girl's night out...I already need another girl's night out!

Super Star!

Chloe's 2nd grade school program was last night and it was super cute!  She had a solo and did a wonderful job.  There were over five hundred people in the audience and she didn't seem a bit scared!  What a little super star!  I am a very proud mama :)

I went out and treated myself today!  I got my eyebrows waxed and boy did they need it!  I am just not good at doing my own and I was starting to look a bit like an amazon woman.  It was definitely time to get them done.  It's amazing how much better a girl can feel from such a simple thing like that.  I just might get my nails done next week...or maybe I'll get a new purse.  New purses always make me smile :)

Something else that makes me smile: Noah just came in my room and said he just wanted to give me a hug.  He is amazing!  Both of my kids are absolutely amazing!  I am blessed :)
